Weekend Inspired...

Hi folks!!!

Just wanted to check in to say hey this morning!!!  The kiddos and I went to the Cookie Crumble in downtown Newnan last night.  It was a real treat, and I was actually quite tame with the cookies!!!

After getting the sillies out....

I was able to get a great pic!!!

I'm not going to any fancy Christmas parties tonight, but if I was, this...all of this...would definitely be worn!!!

We're heading out to get some more lights today...

Have a great one everybody!!!

O Christmas Tea Success!!!

Hey Guys!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday!  I started mine out at the doctor's office-shin issues.  Anyway, I'm medicated now and feeling much better!!! :)  I'll probably take the kids to the Cookie Crumble in Downtown Newnan (Sweet Baby Jesus...Be a fence around me so that I don't eat too many cookies...)

Alyssia's been working on her letter to Santa...

Don't ask me what it says...

Last night was Business Women of Fayette and Coweta County's annual event, O Christmas Tea, and I had the honor of decorating for this special night once again...

O Christmas Tea is an event to raise money and accept donations for The Community Welcome House, a safe haven for domestic abuse victims, and this year, we raised almost $6,000!!!  Truly amazing...

Just a thought...

Enjoy the weekend!!!

Zinfandel and Such...

Hey guys,

I hope everyone is having a good day so far!  The dreary weather is kinda throwing me off a bit, but oh well.  All the more reason the crank up the Christmas music and snuggle up to a cup of hot chocolate...

The post today is dedicated to those Chardonnay, Bloody Mary, Spiked Egg Nog kinda folks.

Placing alcohol can be a tricky job of you're having a Christmas party this season.  Too close to the food, and you risk everything looking like a hodge podge of "stuff."  Too far from the party, and nobody really realizes it's there, not too mention being extremely inconvenient for your guests.  Too close to that uncle that everyone has in the family, and there won't be anything left to drink!!! :)

It also matters how you like to show off the alcohol.   Are you a "tucked away" kind of person, or are you more "let it all hang out."  Hopefully nobody will be letting that happen at your party, but I digress...

So I've put together a few ideas of how you can put out the liquor.  I hope a few of these will spark some thoughts...

How many old trunks have we seen at flea markets and thrift stores?!?  I love the idea of using an old trunk with a few shelves to keep alcohol visible, yet out of the way, especially in tight spaces.
Try using an armoire to keep a few bottles of wine.

It's hard to focus on the bar in such an amazing space!  Loving the artwork!!!

Neat and visible.

This just goes to show that you can repurpose already existing furniture to get ready for your holiday party!
Love this!!!
So elegant...

This is right up my vintage industrial alley!!!

I don't know about you, but I sure could use a dirty martini right about now...

Enjoy the day!!!

Winner Winner!!! Chicken Dinner!!!

Hey Guys!!! I hope everyone had an awesome weekend!!! I know I did!

Moms Run This Town, one of the running groups I'm involved with, decided that we should all dress like reindeer and elves...So fun!!! I was Dancer, because I like to...you know...dance!

I finished up my Jingle Bell Run 5k race in 33:38, a few seconds faster than the last one!!!

I was blowing a little kiss to Lissy! Check out the chick-a-dees in the tutus...Too cute!!!

But can I just say that this race was quite a tad harder than the last one. A hill in the beginning and a long one in the end...Not a good look.

Anyway, I am so excited to announce that we have a winner of our $25.00 Visa gift card giveaway!!! And it is... *Cue drumroll*

Dawn Trest!!!
Congratulations, Dawn!!! Just email me at krackard@msn.com to claim your prize!!!

Here's hoping everyone has a phenominal day!!!

My Favorite Things!!!

It's the first day of December...YEAH!!!  And to top that, I ran 6.2 miles last night!!!  The most I've run...Ever.  So happy!!!

One of my favorite shows, as I'm sure like most, was ALWAYS Oprah's Favorite Things episodes. OMGoodness.  The candles, the robes, the skin care products were always so amazing and always made me drool.

Now, even though my bank account is lacking somewhat compared to Oprah, I would love to try a little something here called Kenya's Favorite Things!!!  *Cue fans cheering wildly, screaming, clapping, running, crying, fainting, jumping, hugging, and "church shouting"...

And the first?

Come on now...Was this really a surprise?  If you are among those that have not yet gotten on the iPad bandwagon, go ahead and jump on.  I LOVE my iPad.  The magazines, the apps, the feeling of gliding my fingers across that smooth lit screen.  Too far?

Anyway, definitely something you should think about picking up...

Number 2...

Love, love, love my Talbots boots!!!  Talk about versatile.  I can wear them with dresses, leggings, skirts, jeans.  The possibilities are endless.  I also love that the more you wear them, they start to get this cool "worn and weathered" look that I adore, like you've just come in from the stables, even if you've just been baking brownies for the church social.

Next?

My Himalayan Trading Post candle!!!  And the funny thing is that I think I love every...single...scent.  I also love how long these candles last...So great!  These candles were the first to let me know that I would NEVER buy a Walmart candle again (sorry Walmart).

I am truly feelin' my Calvin Klein cable knit throw I bought about a month ago!  It is SO soft and comfy, like it just surrounds you!  If there is one thing I can't stand...it's a rinky dink throw or blanket that barely covers my ankles.  This is NOT that.  It's large enough to cover me, but not to huge enough to make it feel bulky.  And if for nothing else, it makes an amazing cover for all those jello stains on your sofa when company comes!!!

Number 5, you ask...

Back to Nature Nantucket Blend.  Since I started running, I've been trying to eat A LOT healthier, and this blend definitely helps with that.  I won't call it trail mix, because some of those, I've found, can pack almost 300 calories a serving!!!  This blend is 100% natural.  Cholesterol free, NO salt added, and a great source of vitamin E.  It contains almonds, cranberries, cherries, raisins, and pistachios...So you know it tastes good!

I really love candles, so I actually have two on my list this year...

Believe it or not, Further candles are made from purified waste grease from Mario Batali's MOZZA Restaurant!!!  Crazy right?  Talk about being green.  They also mix in oils of bergamot, olives, and exotic grasses.  Now available at the shop...

Next on the list?

My Body Shop hemp loofah!!!!!!!!!!  I am exclaiming that this is, by far, the best loofah that I have ever bought...in my life.  Period.  I love that it even exfoliates my feet and can really make any body wash go a long way...

Well, I think that's about it for now.  I'm sure I'll be doing something today or tomorrow and realize I missed something that definitely belongs on this list.  Anyway, I was kinda thinking...shouldn't everything we buy for ourselves be "favorite things"...

Enjoy the day!!!

What Does Your Christmas Look Like???

Hey Guys!

I hope everyone's having a beautiful morning!  I'm about to make myself some tea, and get a little work done...

I love everything about Christmas...I really do!!!  I love the cookies, the music, the lights, the trees, and yes, even the shopping (I said everything).

But because this will be my first Christmas on a my new blog, I wanted to do something a little different.  I already know what my house looks like at Christmas time...

but I want to see yours!!!  You heard me right…I want to see the traditional, the modern, the red-and-green, the pastels…everything.  All you have to do is just send me a pic of your Christmas space (outdoor or indoor) at krackard@msn.com, and we’ll feature them on the blog!!!

I can’t wait to see your Christmas homes!!!  Have a wonderful and productive day!!!
