Atlanta Trip

Happy Friday everybody!!!  Are you ready for the weekend or what?!?

I took I little trip to "Hot"lanta yesterday, and believe me, it lived up to it's name, with a high of 77!  Which only means one thing:  It's going to be scorching this summer.

Every time I get an opportunity to visit Atlanta, I always get a little excited!  Kinda crazy, right?  But when you live in the country, there's something so enticing, so electrifying about driving into the "big city"! :)

On this trip, I had an opportunity to visit Lewis & Sharon, a fabric store recommended by one of my favorite bloggers, Dayka Robinson.  You can check out her blog here!  This store is so amazing, and the salespeople are incredibly nice!

I absolutely adore this print!  I'm thinking about using it in an upcoming upholstery job...
So many ticking stripe fabric colors!
I also got an opportunity to visit Jonather Adler's store.  The first thing you think of is "POC"...

Love these little bags!
How adorable is this rug???

These candles smell incredible!

Astrology pillows

And of course I couldn't head home without making a stop here...

Spring is in the air!!!

And to top off the day?  Lunch with my husband at Maggiano's!!!  I may have eaten a little too much...

So glad I didn't have to cook last night!!!

So what are your plans for the weekend?  I'd love to hear them!!!

Make it an amazing Friday everybody!!!

My Favorite Things!!!

It's the first day of December...YEAH!!!  And to top that, I ran 6.2 miles last night!!!  The most I've run...Ever.  So happy!!!

One of my favorite shows, as I'm sure like most, was ALWAYS Oprah's Favorite Things episodes. OMGoodness.  The candles, the robes, the skin care products were always so amazing and always made me drool.

Now, even though my bank account is lacking somewhat compared to Oprah, I would love to try a little something here called Kenya's Favorite Things!!!  *Cue fans cheering wildly, screaming, clapping, running, crying, fainting, jumping, hugging, and "church shouting"...

And the first?

Come on now...Was this really a surprise?  If you are among those that have not yet gotten on the iPad bandwagon, go ahead and jump on.  I LOVE my iPad.  The magazines, the apps, the feeling of gliding my fingers across that smooth lit screen.  Too far?

Anyway, definitely something you should think about picking up...

Number 2...

Love, love, love my Talbots boots!!!  Talk about versatile.  I can wear them with dresses, leggings, skirts, jeans.  The possibilities are endless.  I also love that the more you wear them, they start to get this cool "worn and weathered" look that I adore, like you've just come in from the stables, even if you've just been baking brownies for the church social.

Next?

My Himalayan Trading Post candle!!!  And the funny thing is that I think I love every...single...scent.  I also love how long these candles last...So great!  These candles were the first to let me know that I would NEVER buy a Walmart candle again (sorry Walmart).

I am truly feelin' my Calvin Klein cable knit throw I bought about a month ago!  It is SO soft and comfy, like it just surrounds you!  If there is one thing I can't stand...it's a rinky dink throw or blanket that barely covers my ankles.  This is NOT that.  It's large enough to cover me, but not to huge enough to make it feel bulky.  And if for nothing else, it makes an amazing cover for all those jello stains on your sofa when company comes!!!

Number 5, you ask...

Back to Nature Nantucket Blend.  Since I started running, I've been trying to eat A LOT healthier, and this blend definitely helps with that.  I won't call it trail mix, because some of those, I've found, can pack almost 300 calories a serving!!!  This blend is 100% natural.  Cholesterol free, NO salt added, and a great source of vitamin E.  It contains almonds, cranberries, cherries, raisins, and pistachios...So you know it tastes good!

I really love candles, so I actually have two on my list this year...

Believe it or not, Further candles are made from purified waste grease from Mario Batali's MOZZA Restaurant!!!  Crazy right?  Talk about being green.  They also mix in oils of bergamot, olives, and exotic grasses.  Now available at the shop...

Next on the list?

My Body Shop hemp loofah!!!!!!!!!!  I am exclaiming that this is, by far, the best loofah that I have ever bought...in my life.  Period.  I love that it even exfoliates my feet and can really make any body wash go a long way...

Well, I think that's about it for now.  I'm sure I'll be doing something today or tomorrow and realize I missed something that definitely belongs on this list.  Anyway, I was kinda thinking...shouldn't everything we buy for ourselves be "favorite things"...

Enjoy the day!!!

Bestie Love...

Hey Chicas!!!

I'm hoping everyone had an awesome weekend!!!  I got in a couple of great runs with my friend Megan on Friday and I got up early on Saturday to run in downtown Newnan.  I loved it!!!  There's nothing like running through the city you live in!!!  I was in a little pain in the ankle area on Saturday afterwards, but feeling so much better!

On Saturday, my best friend, Mela, and I headed to Atlantic Station to celebrate her birthday...We had a blast!!!  We went to Parish in Atlanta...

If you haven't been, go!  The atmosphere is amazing, the decor is simply beautiful, and the food is like nothing you've ever tasted...Promise.

We later checked out The Loft, The Body Shop,  H&M, where I picked up these...

I get hot pretty quickly, so I love having tanks to wear under blazers.  The black and white stripe called out to me from a mile away...

And DSW, where I just couldn't leave without these...

So stinking cute...Love, love, love!!!

You ever have so much fun you forget to take pictures?  That happened.  Hence, all the words.  Anyway, here's a pic of Mela and the family.

I had to grab it from Facebook...

Talk about a sweetheart.  We have been through A LOT together.  We actually met when I was her son's teacher in fourth grade.  That was almost four years ago, and we've been friends ever since.  The Bible talks about a friend that sticks closer than a brother, and I truly feel like I've found that in Mela.

If you have had the priveledge of having one of those types of friends, then you know exactly what I'm talking about.  My mom had one of those types of friends for almost forty years...

Just a thought...

So tell me...what do you think makes an incredible friend?
